Sophie Pascoe wins gold

Swimmer Sophie Pascoe has won gold with a world record time in the women’s 200 metre Individual Medley SM 10 event at Rio. She swam a time of 2.24.90 minutes, defending her Olympic title from London four years ago. It’s Pascoe’s third medal of the Rio Paralympics and she still has another two events to compete in. She will go into those races as the defending Olympic champion. Earlier in the day, the track cycling tandem pairing of Emma Fay and her pilot Laura Thompson won a silver medal in the women’s B 3000 metres Individual Pursuit New Zealand are currently 10th on the medal table with four gold, three silver and two bronze.
